Unit & Position Role Unit Function The Force Generation Business Unit provides the Royal Navy’s Scheduling Authority, In-Service Capability Management, an Intelligent Customer function and discharges legislative Duty Holding Responsibilities/Risk to Life management. The Force Generation Directorate contributes to achieving the Defence Tasks set out each year in the Defence Plan and key activity & deliverables set out in the annual Royal Navy Command Plan. The Plans & Integration sub directorate coheres & integrates the RN’s Force Level Outputs (Carrier Strike, Littoral Strike, Forward Presence and Homeland Defence), schedules the Fleet and programmes maritime activity. Team Function FGen Plans/Force Plans under the direction of the Product Owner (Head Force Plans) will work with N5, across NCHQ, and outwards with Head Office, Delivery Agents, other TLBs, StratCom and NATO staff, in order to: · Develop the Long-Term Schedule (LTS), out to 10 years to provide a Force Generation plan that is coherent and takes account of the demands of Defence Strategy, the Defence Plan, RN Command Plan, OSDs for retiring capabilities and ISDs for their replacements. · Integrate new capabilities and platforms into the force; this is done through cohering the acquisition schedules into the LTS. · Integrate Task Groups ensuring that ships, aircraft, units and supporting capabilities are generated and maintained at the required readiness, synchronised with the operational demand. Policy considerations, including NATO commitments, capability and readiness requirements, must also be integrated into LTS and the Command Plan. Position Role Schedule SO2 Key Responsibilities · Support the Force Plans product owner in development and delivery of Sprint and Product backlogs. · Support Schedule SO1 in the development of the Long Term Schedule, ensuring that Defence Plan requirements are sustainability resourced and integrated. · Engage across DLODs through the Full Schedule Review process in close liaison with N5. · Support the TG Gen team as the focal point for the development and maintenance of an integrated and sustainable Task Group Long Term Schedule. · Contribute to development and annual review of the relevant sections of the Command Plan and the RN 5 Year Plan. · Support the Schedule SO1 in providing schedule input into programmes and projects as required.
