An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Imaging clerical team at Barnsley Hospital NHS Trust.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, empathy, and be able to stay calm under pressure.
You will be expected to work some weekends and bank holidays in addition to working hours between 8am and 8pm during the week, so a flexible approach is essential. You will work some days at the main Trust site and some days at the new Community Diagnostic Centre in The Glass Works shopping complex in Barnsley town centre.
Knowledge of the different types of examinations performed in Medical Imaging and experience using radiology systems is desirable.
The interview date for this role will be the 10th July 2025.
Main duties of the job
This role is a fantastic opportunity for apprentices who are currently studying for NVQ Level 2/3. Apprentices should note that the salary would be the Agenda for Change Annex 21 trainee rate (75% max of band) until they have completed their apprenticeship.
Provide an effective and professional reception service in Medical Imaging at the main Trust site and at the Community Diagnostic Centre.
Undertake general clerical duties, accessing and inputting patient information into dedicated Radiology systems with a high degree of accuracy.
Book appointments directly with patients, ensuring that patients' needs and requirements of the imaging examinations are considered at all times.
Send out appointment letters.
Liaise with staff on issues related to appointments to provide an efficient and effective service to patients.
Deal with queries and requests from staff, patients, and external organizations.
