This fantastic Newham-based primary school in Poplar is looking for a KS2 Teacher who is enthusiastic, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils as they develop independence, confidence, and academic understanding. You will play a key role in delivering engaging and challenging lessons that support pupils’ progress across the KS2 curriculum, while maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and the wider school team to deliver consistent routines, structure, and high-quality teaching throughout the school day. Responsibilities may include:
Planning and delivering engaging KS2 lessons in line with the national curriculum
Creating a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
Preparing pupils for key assessments and transitions where appropriate
Working collaboratively with support staff and parents

The successful KS2 Teacher will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards it
Experience teaching within KS2 (ECTs are welcome to apply)
A strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and age-related expectations
A calm, positive, and consistent approach to behaviour management
Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
