Job overview A private family is seeking a warm, kind and compassionate visiting carer to support their 74-year-old family member. The successful candidate will provide personal care, mobility assistance and companionship, helping the client maintain their independence and enjoy an active lifestyle. This is a permanent part-time role, working 10-20 hours per week at times to be mutually agreed. About the client AGE: 74 MEDICAL CONDITIONS: The client is wheelchair dependent and speech impaired following a brain haemorrhage in 1986. They require personal care, hoisting and meal preparation support. ADDITIONAL HEALTH NEEDS: The client's catheter is managed by district nurses. PERSONALITY: The client is friendly and amicable despite their disabilities. They sometimes experience frustration, and enjoy spending time outdoors. Key responsibilities The carer will visit the client's home and undertake the following responsibilities: • Support with hygiene and toileting needs • Assist with mobility and getting around the home • Provide transport to appointments • Offer friendly companionship and emotional support Work environment The client's home is smoke-free and the client is a pet owner (pet care is not part of this role). The property has tracking hoists installed and an accessible garden. The location is near local parks. Requirements ESSENTIAL: • Full UK driving licence • Enhanced DBS clearance • Fluent English (spoken) • Kind, patient and emotionally supportive approach • Ability to reassure people and help them feel safe and understood
