A well-regarded, independent hotel in the western Lake District is seeking a Sous Chef to join its established kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Set in the coastal village of Ravenglass and operating as part of a wider historic estate, the business has a strong reputation for quality food, a supportive working environment, and a commitment to work-life balancerare within the sector.
The Role Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards and supporting the continued development of the food offering.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting and leading the kitchen team, including deputising for the Head Chef
Assisting with seasonal menu development, with an emphasis on fresh, local produce
Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards (5-star rating)
Training and mentoring junior team members
Managing stock control and supplier ordering
Ensuring consistency in food quality, presentation, and service

Current Sous Chefs seeking a new challenge are encouraged to apply
Strong Junior Sous Chefs or Senior CDP's ready to step up will also be considered, with training provided
You will demonstrate:

Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety
The ability to perform well under pressure
Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
The Package Salary from £34,000 per annum, dependent on experience
