The Role
VeryConnect is seeking an experienced Operations professional to take ownership of the company's core business functions. This is a pivotal role requiring a high-trust individual to manage our financial processes, HR operations, and internal infrastructure.
You will act as a central pillar of the team, ensuring our internal "engine" runs smoothly—from managing payroll and bookkeeping to overseeing recruitment and maintaining our security protocols.
Your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Financial Management: Oversee weekly reconciliations, month-end reviews, and debt chasing, cashflow reporting, customer invoicing and supplier management. Act as the primary point of contact for our external accountants for VAT returns, year end filing and corporation tax.
* Payroll & Benefits: Liaise with our external accountant to report and approve payroll, pension payments and PAYE.
* People & HR: Provide line management for a team of 5 and oversee absence management for a wider group. You will manage the employee lifecycle from new joiners to leavers, including salary reviews, contract changes, internal people policies, communication and visa sponsorship processes. Provide training and support for other line managers guiding best practice and company values.
* Recruitment: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including drafting job specs, screening candidates, and managing offers and negotiations.
* Systems & Security: Act as the primary administrator for key internal tools, looking after day to day ensuring everything runs smoothly, promoting security best practices and monitoring alerts to ensure company data remains secure.
* Business Operations: Support the CEO with ad-hoc tasks, external funding applications, manage office-related matters (rates, insurance), and coordinate various third-party services.
About You
You are a highly organised, "high-trust" professional who is comfortable operating across multiple departments expressing confidence in delegating while working closely in the day to day where required.. We want to hear from you if you:
* Are an experienced operator with a background in HR, finance, or business operations, ideally within a fast-paced B2B or SaaS environment.
* Possess a meticulous eye for detail, whether you are reviewing a finance report or drafting a new employment contract.
* Demonstrate strong leadership skills with experience in line management and the ability to unblock and support team members.
* Are tech-savvy and comfortable managing administrative backends for tools like Xero and Google Admin.
* Communicate with clarity and empathy, acting as a trusted point of contact for team members on sensitive HR and payroll matters.
