Lead the estimating function for heavy civils & groundworks projects, with a strong focus on self-delivery experience in Data Centres or similar complex projects. Provide accurate cost planning and tender submissions, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations.

The role requires technical expertise in estimating for large-scale heavy civils & groundworks projects and leadership skills to manage preconstruction activities effectively.
* Estimating Leadership – Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civils & groundworks projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
* Self-Delivery Expertise – Apply knowledge of direct delivery methodologies, particularly in Data Centres or similar environments.
* Scope Analysis – Review project specifications, drawings, and contractual documents to identify risks, opportunities, and cost drivers.
* Risk & Opportunity Management – Assess potential risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies.
* Tender Preparation – Lead the compilation of tender submissions, including pricing, methodology, and supporting documentation.
* Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with clients, supply chain partners, and internal teams to ensure clarity and alignment.
* Cost Control & Benchmarking – Maintain cost databases and provide benchmarking insights for future projects.
* Governance & Compliance – Ensure adherence to company policies, governance frameworks, and industry standards.
* Team Development – Mentor junior estimators and contribute to building a high-performing preconstruction team.
* Reporting – Provide accurate and timely reports to the Preconstruction Director on estimating progress and outcomes.
Personal Specification
Technical Competency
* Proven experience as a Senior Estimator in heavy civils & groundworks.
* Strong understanding of self-delivery methodologies.
* Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.
* Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
* Membership of RICS or equivalent professional body.
