Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary: GBP 30,000 : GBP 40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client works within consumer electronics manufacturing and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Designer, on a permanent basis, in the York area.
Consumer Electronics : Design Engineering : SolidWorks : Jigs and Fixtures : Design for Manufacture : Mechanical Design : Research and Development
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
: BSc / BEng qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Design / Product Design Engineering or similar
: 3 : 6 years' or more of industry experience working in similar mechanical design engineer role working on design for manufacture
: Scientific and Technology space industry knowledge
: Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials : injection moulded plastics, metals etc.
: Excellent knowledge and proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software ideally
: Be self:motivated with excellent attention to detail
: Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
: Full UK Driving Licence
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
: Designing both new products and updating existing products : developing detailed mechanical designs
: Designing production jigs and fixtures
: Being involved in developing detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks and the associated documentation
: Liaising with colleagues and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on:time and within budget
: Carrying out post:production design changes
: Managing a variety of projects
: Assisting colleague with any engineering or manufacturing issues that may arise
