As a Senior PMO Manager, you will be critical in ensuring the successful delivery of strategic programmes or overseeing the PMO activities for a portfolio of projects. You will work closely with a Programme or Portfolio Manager and with other colleagues across Change Delivery, as well as a wide range of stakeholders and SMEs in different areas of the Bank. You will play a crucial role in driving project success and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the organisation through the delivery of excellent PMO frameworks.

You will be required to hold colleagues at all levels accountable for their part in delivery, and use data and analysis to back up any challenges you foresee or need to raise. As a line manager within Change Delivery, you will coach and mentor your team, ensuring they have development plans and are constantly seeking to build their skills.


Primary Outcomes and Accountabilities:

1. Strategic Planning & Governance: Work with the PPA leadership team to establish and maintain the PMO framework, methodologies, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across all projects. Ensure all projects adhere to these standards through coaching and mentoring. Support annual portfolio planning with PPA, Finance, and the Portfolio Manager.
2. Facilitate and Support Projects: Monitor complex projects against time, cost, and quality expectations. Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders, addressing delivery risks. Lead project controls including RAID management, status reporting, decision logs, and stakeholder management. Manage resource allocation across projects, ensuring capacity planning for future demands. Define and track KPIs to measure project success and PMO effectiveness.
3. Governance: Lead project reporting to governance bodies and stakeholders. Define and manage stakeholder management approaches and processes, working closely with Communications and Engagement teams.
4. Finance: Ensure financial reporting adheres to standards, monitor costs and benefits, and forecast accurately. Coordinate with suppliers or the Commercial Delivery Team to manage costs and escalate issues as needed.
5. Team Management: Support alignment and collaboration across workstreams. Coach and upskill PMs, PMO, and wider team. Support continuous improvement through lessons learned reviews and skills gap analysis. Lead and mentor the PMO team to foster a high-performance culture. Provide training and development opportunities. Manage staff-related matters including performance, absence, and sickness. Number of direct reports: 2-8.

Essential Criteria:

* Extensive Project Management Office experience in complex portfolios/programmes using various methodologies.
* Proven track record of establishing and managing PMO teams.
* Ability to engage and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders and team members.
* Experience in risk management.
* Ability to analyze data and draw insights.
* Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.


Desirable Criteria:

* Experience developing PMO frameworks, processes, and governance structures.
* Relevant certifications such as P3O, PRINCE2, Agile, Lean.

This role offers a salary of:

* Leeds: £59,520 - £66,960 per annum
* London: £66,160 - £74,430 per annum

In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is provided, including pension, performance awards, flexible benefits allowance, annual leave, private medical insurance, and income protection.
