About this position: Shape the future of sustainable process manufacturing. We are seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of two large-scale, cutting-edge industrial projects near Preston, focused on sustainable fuel production using advanced powder handling and pharma-grade systems. You will take a pivotal role in overseeing electrical design and implementation from FEED through to delivery, ensuring designs meet technical, functional, and operational requirements while aligning with JM’s specific standards. This is a site-based, hands-on role, supporting the engineering execution of: * A brand-new manufacturing facility at the FEED stage. * A scale-up and upgrade programme, building a facility 1.5x larger to expand production capacity. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring technical excellence, quality, and safety across all electrical engineering activities. Job Responsibilities: * Lead, supervise, and manage the work of the EPCm contractor to ensure electrical designs meet JM’s specific needs and standards. * Ensure the electrical design and implementation are aligned with project requirements and functional objectives. * Review electrical designs, specifications, and documentation provided by contractors, ensuring they are technically sound and meet operational requirements. * Take responsibility for time, budget, progress, and quality within the electrical discipline throughout the project lifecycle. * Work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, collaborating with other engineering disciplines, the project engineering manager, and the project manager to align on project goals and delivery. * Apply proficiency in CDM Regulation within the project to ensure health and safety compliance during design and implementation. Experience Required: * Relevant engineering degree, ideally with chartership. * Extensive technical experience within multidisciplinary engineering teams, ideally in EPCm project environments. * Experience in the fine chemicals sector is a significant advantage. * Proven ability to deliver complex engineering projects within pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, or high-integrity manufacturing environments. * Enterprising, proactive, and flexible attitude with a problem-solving mindset. * Team player who takes ownership while supporting colleagues to achieve project goals. * Excellent communication and decision-making skills to manage contractor interfaces and resolve design challenges. * Resilience and ability to perform within a dynamic, complex project environment
