Tax Manager - Personal Tax Advisory – Droylsden (Hybrid) – £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a growing accountancy practice in the recruitment of a Personal Tax Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a large and varied personal tax portfolio while playing a key role in developing the tax function. This role would suit an experienced personal tax professional with strong advisory expertise who enjoys building long-term client relationships, leading a team, and delivering both compliance and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 300-350 personal tax clients
- Deliver personal tax compliance alongside advisory work across Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Income Tax, Residence & Domicile, and wider tax planning
- Build trusted relationships with clients, acting as their main point of contact
- Identify tax planning opportunities and provide clear, practical advice
- Review personal tax returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
- Lead, mentor and support junior members of the tax team
- Work closely with Directors on complex advisory projects and departmental growth
Key Requirements
- CTA or ATT qualification highly beneficial, qualified by experience (QBE) candidates are encouraged to apply
- Significant experience in UK personal tax within an accountancy practice
- Strong personal tax advisory experience is essential
- Previous experience managing a client portfolio
- Team management or supervisory experience
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
