Join Our Dynamic Onsite Production Team at IPL Inchture!
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Line Leader to become a vital part of our onsite Production Team at our Potato site in Inchture. If you are passionate about Operations and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this role is perfect for you!
Position Details:
• Schedule: 4 on 2 off, Monday - Thursday (20:00pm - 06:30am) NIGHTS
• Location: IPL, Inchture - Site Based Role
• Contract Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
As a Line Leader, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating a production line to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and compliance with all relevant standards. Your responsibilities will include:
•Team Leadership: Leading, motivating, and organising your production line team to achieve daily targets for efficiency and yield, ensuring customer orders are fulfilled to the highest quality standards.
•Compliance & Safety: Ensuring full adherence to company policies and all relevant legislation, including Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
•Product Quality: Ensuring all finished products meet customer specifications, including positive release where required, and promoting a culture where quality is a shared responsibility.
•Documentation & Checks: Completing all required documentation accurately and promptly, including line start-up checks, handovers, Health & Safety records, and the Fire Register.
•Workplace Standards: Promoting a safety-first, quality-driven culture and maintaining a clean and organised work environment in line with the ‘clean as you go’ policy.
•Communication: Providing clear and timely communication to all relevant stakeholders, including detailed handovers between shifts.
•Resource Optimisation: Making effective use of company resources and ensuring compliance with all operational procedures.
•Leadership Support: Acting as deputy for the Shift Operations Leader when required.
•Continuous Improvement: Supporting and promoting the 5S methodology and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the line.
•Product Verification: Monitoring and recording product weights (finished goods, Class 2, and waste) and ensuring all packaging, labelling, and product information is accurate and aligned with the Matrix.
•Packaging Coordination: Liaising with the packaging team to ensure all materials are available and correct ahead of production to avoid downtime and maintain productivity.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a proactive and capable individual with the following:
•Industry Experience: Proven experience in a fast-paced production environment, ideally within the fresh produce sector.
•Team Leadership: Experience in leading and motivating small teams.
•Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•IT Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
•Practical Skills: Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to work quickly and methodically.
•Teamwork: Excellent team working skills and the ability to work independently when required.
•Health & Safety Awareness: A sound understanding of Health and Safety practices.
