Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide personalised support and assistance to clients in their own homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living and client care, with a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in need. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. Flexibility to work various shifts is preferred, and applicants must be committed to delivering respectful and professional care.
It is a requirement for this position to be able to drive and have your own reliable vehicle. Experience is not essential since you will be provided with full training and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
* Support with medication administration following prescribed schedules and protocols
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
* Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniques
* Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
* Support clients with mobility
* Drive clients to appointments or social outings as needed, ensuring safe transportation
* Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals or family members
* Engage in activities to promote well-being and independence

Qualifications
* Knowledge of patient care techniques, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care
* Certification or training in first aid is advantageous
* Valid driving licence and clean driving record are desirable for transportation duties
* Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassion and patience
* Excellent organisational skills for meal preparation, medication management, and behaviour support
* Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
* Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends as required
