Assist in maintaining a reception and clerical service for the benefit of children / adolescents and their families attending outpatient appointments.
Main duties of the job
1. Adhere to the Trust policy for the safe keeping of patients’ personal possessions.
2. Report accidents/incidents to nurse in charge and complete appropriate Trust forms.
3. Assist in the general cleanliness and tidiness of the paediatric outpatient area.
4. Participate in an annual performance review.
5. Understand the importance of fire precautions and is aware of hospital policy regarding emergency procedures for example fire, cardiac arrest and major incident.
6. Be aware of responsibility in respect of the protection of children.
7. Report to the nurse in charge and document any concerns or information relevant to the protection of the child.
8. Attend all mandatory training and other training programmes as required.
9. Assist in other areas as requested by the nurse in charge.
10. Undertake any other duties as requested by the nurse in charge.
11. Must be familiar with current applicable guidelines and policies relating to work area as specified by ward sister/charge nurse.

Education. Qualification & Training
Essential criteria
11. Secondary level education. GCSE English
Desirable criteria
12. Knowledge of medical terminology
13. Computer literacy in: Word, Excel, Databases
Experience
Desirable criteria
14. Experience working within a healthcare setting
15. Experience working within an administrative clerical setting
16. Experience working in a busy customer focused care environment
