Job overview
Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Data analyst to work within the Nursing and Professions Department.
Working across the Nursing and Professions Directorate the role will involve data collection and monitoring, including the extraction of data from across various systems and sources to support reporting as required. The postholder will have excellent analytical, organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload in a dynamic, fast-paced office environment.
Main duties of the job
* The role will involve exporting, collating and manipulating large amounts of data from a wide range of sources as well as the initial analysis and presentation of accurate data in an appropriate format that is understandable to its audience.
* The post holder will assist with the production of standard information reports and clinical data returns across the directorate, as and when required, and will distribute these to the appropriate audience. They will contribute to the development of dashboards or tools that enable a better understanding of data to support decision-making and service monitoring.
* The postholder will run daily, weekly and monthly reports to support business needs of the Professions and Quality directorate. They will run background reports and produce data packs for weekly or monthly meetings, to support ongoing quality surveillance activity and performance monitoring within the Professions and Quality Directorate.

* 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising to 29 after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years
The successful candidate would be expected to be office based a minimum 3 days per week.

Qualifications
* Educated to diploma level or equivalent by experience
* Project Management Qualification.
Experience
* Work experience in an information related role in an NHS organisation.
* Experience of developing and improving data collection and reporting systems.
* Extensive experience and knowledge of working with Microsoft Office packages including excel, access, word, PowerPoint.
* Experience of using Data manipulation and analysis using advanced excel skills including combining data from multiple sources; v:lookups; pivots; summaries and graphs
* Experience of improvement orientated data reporting.
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of business information needs and reporting.
* Knowledge of data quality issues and the approaches taken to improve quality.
