Slaughterhall / Abattoir Operative Location: Clitheroe Shift: Monday – Friday Hours: 6:00am – 3:00pm Breaks: Two 30-minute unpaid breaks Pay: Starting from £12.21 per hour We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for experienced Slaughterhall Operatives to work within a busy abattoir environment in Clitheroe. Main Responsibilities: Working as part of a team on the slaughter line Preparing livestock for slaughter Carrying out humane and efficient slaughter (qualified slaughtermen only) Cutting, trimming, skinning, dressing and inspecting carcasses Removing and processing offal and by-products Operating machinery and maintaining production flow Weighing, packing and labelling products as required Ensuring carcasses meet company and customer specifications Maintaining high standards of hygiene and housekeeping Following all Food Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety regulations Correct use and maintenance of PPE and knives Requirements: Previous abattoir or meat processing experience preferred Qualified slaughtermen highly desirable Able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail
