About the Role
We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and resilient Agency Support Workers to join our team within a hostel setting. You will support vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness, complex needs, or at risk of social exclusion. Your role will be to provide practical assistance, emotional support, and guidance to help individuals build independence and work towards positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Supporting residents with daily living skills, including managing routines, budgeting, and maintaining accommodation.
* Providing emotional support, encouragement, and guidance.
* Assisting with signposting to external services (healthcare, housing, employment, substance misuse support).
* Managing challenging behaviour in a professional and safe manner.
* Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are followed.
* Maintaining accurate records and incident reports.
* Promoting a safe, supportive, and respectful hostel environment.
Requirements
* 6 months previous experience in a hostel, homelessness, or supported housing setting is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
* A calm, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.
* Ability to work with individuals with complex needs (mental health, substance misuse, trauma).
* Flexibility to work across different shifts, including nights and weekends.
* NISCC Registered
* Willingness to complete Enhanced Access NI
