Job Summary
We are seeking Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of the HND Construction Management programme. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Location & Contract
Location: Birmingham (On‑Site) | Contract: Full‑Time, Permanent (40 hours per week) | Salary: £51,000
Responsibilities
* All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met
* Developing, updating, and improving course materials as appropriate
* Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials
* Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties
* Understanding and keeping up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices
* Working towards a range of clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and student progression
Qualifications
* Master's degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable)
* Previous UK HE teaching experience in the wider subject area
* Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter
* Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback
* Experience of accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records
* Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills
* Ability to work with diverse groups of people
Desirable
* Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent)
* Experience of design/development of academic or professional education programmes or equivalent
