Minor Works Engineer - South West London
FAFS Fire & Security specialises in designing, installing, commissioning, and servicing automatic Fire Detection, Protection and Alarm Systems in and around Greater London. We are currently looking for a new Minor Works Engineer, specifically covering the London region.
FAFS Minor Works Engineers
You will work closely with the Minor Works / DRS Team on remedials, repairs, investigations, small installations, critical failures, investigations, and take-over service support, from inception through to completion on Fire Alarm and Security Systems. You will strive to deliver world-class customer service and exceed customers' expectations.
1. Liaise with the Minor Works and Service Desk on all troublesome sites, including any critical issues.
2. Work closely with subcontract labour and onsite clients.
3. Maintain Fire & Security Systems in your region when demand requires.
4. Ensure effective communication with customers and schedulers when planning site visits.
5. Utilise all customer portals as directed in accordance with the customer requirements.
6. Assist the team with any other works.
7. From time to time, you may be required to support the Service Engineers on particular jobs and occasionally work slightly out of your designated postcode area.
8. Plan and respond to routine and reactive call visits in your area.
9. Maintain your stock levels with support from the Stores team.
10. Attend training sessions as and when required.
11. Attend Engineering team meetings as and when required.
12. Identify any personal training and development needs to help you provide the best possible customer service
Who We're Looking For
13. Good all-round knowledge of Fire and Security Systems.
14. Experience of working in a similar role previously - Fire & Security Installation Experience (minimum of 2 years)
15. Technical background in the electrical/electronic industry.
16. Experience in front-line customer contact preferred.
17. Knowledge of current industry standards and able to commission multi-disciplined systems.
18. Self-motivated and able to organise workload, with the ability to work on own initiative.
19. Highly organised, professional and computer literate.
20. Full UK Driving Licence with good driving experience
21. Be able to pass security and background checks for access to customers' premises
