Registered Manager - Children's Home
Location: Harrogate
Salary: Up to £50,000 per year + bonuses
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and resilient Registered Manager to lead a small, therapeutic children's home supporting up to three young people aged 8-17. This is an opportunity to shape a family-style, nurturing home where children feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Whether you're an experienced Registered Manager or a strong Deputy ready to step up, this role offers the chance to focus on quality care, supported by a collaborative leadership team that always puts children first.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.
* Create a homely, activity-filled environment underpinned by therapeutic and trauma-informed practice.
* Provide strong leadership, supervision, and guidance to staff, building a motivated and skilled team.
* Oversee staff recruitment, induction, and development, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
* Manage budgets and resources effectively, balancing financial sustainability with quality care.
* Build positive partnerships with social workers, schools, health professionals, and families.
* Drive continuous improvement, preparing for inspections and achieving outstanding outcomes.
Requirements
* Experience as a Registered Manager or in a senior leadership role within children's residential care.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted inspections, and regulatory frameworks.
* Experience in trauma-informed and child-centred care approaches.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Resilience, creativity, and the ability to inspire and support children and staff.
