Service Charge Officer - SurreyJob Reference: NLD-002212Salary: £31,557 rising to £32,899 after probationEmployment Type: PermanentDo you enjoy working with numbers and making sure things are clear, accurate, and fair for customers?We’re looking for a detail-focused and customer-driven Service Charge Officer to join our team at PA Housing. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate and transparent service charges that residents can trust.You’ll be involved in the full service charge cycle from setting budgets to producing year-end accounts while working closely with colleagues across the business and supporting residents with their queries. We also offer an optional nine-day fortnight scheme, allowing you to compress your hours if it suits the role.What you’ll be doingDeliver the full service charge cycle, including budgets, year-end statements, and reconciliationsValidate service charge costs and ensure accurate allocation across schemesInvestigate and resolve variances, working with stakeholders to understand differencesProduce clear and transparent communications for residents about their service chargesReview invoices, accruals, and prepayments to ensure financial accuracyWork closely with auditors and support year-end processesManage a portfolio of schemes and attend site visits to support resident queriesCollaborate with teams across housing, finance, and estates to ensure a joined-up serviceSupport development teams with setting service charges for new schemesIdentify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and value for moneyWhat we’re looking for:We’d love to hear from you if you:Have experience in a service charge, finance, or accounting role (ideally within housing)Understand service charge legislation or are keen to develop your knowledgeAre confident working with financial data and analysing complex informationHave strong Excel and Microsoft Office skillsCan communicate clearly and explain financial information in a simple wayAre organised and able to manage multiple deadlinesEnjoy working collaboratively with both finance and non-finance colleaguesBring a proactive, “can-do” attitude and a focus on continuous improvementIdeally are AAT qualified or currently studying (or equivalent experience)If specific qualifications are required, please upload them with your application to demonstrate your eligibility.At PA Housing, we believe in respect, integrity, and accountability.
