What you’ll be doing

1. Provide expert legal advice on UK and EU competition and regulatory law, supporting BT’s operations globally.
2. Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor to the Legal Director.
3. Advise on a wide range of legal issues including investigations, market reviews, M&A, SMP regulation, procurement, and state aid.
4. Lead on lower-complexity matters and support senior lawyers on high-impact cases and litigation.
5. Deliver training and awareness sessions across BT Legal and business units, promoting compliance and best practice.
6. Collaborate across legal, regulatory, and business teams to ensure seamless, high-quality legal support.

The skills you'll need

7. Qualified Lawyer with previous experience with UK and EU competition Law
8. Strong ownership mindset with a focus on delivering clear, outcome-driven legal advice.
9. Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex legal concepts into plain, pragmatic language tailored to diverse stakeholders.
10. Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with the ability to manage competing priorities and last-minute requests.
11. Commercially aware and curious, with a proactive approach to understanding BT’s products, markets, and regulatory environment.
12. Skilled in identifying legal risks and proposing practical, business-aligned solutions.
13. Trusted advisor with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and strategic partners.
