Cover Supervisor - Andover
Prospero Teaching is looking for confident, enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Andover. This role involves stepping into the classroom when teachers are absent, delivering pre-prepared lesson materials, and keeping students focused, engaged, and working productively.
This is a great opportunity for candidates who enjoy working with young people and want hands-on classroom experience. It's especially suitable for graduates, aspiring teachers, tutors, youth-work professionals, or anyone with strong communication and leadership skills.
Both full-time and flexible part-time/day-to-day positions are available.
The Role:
* Lead lessons using work set by the class teacher
* Supervise classes across a variety of subjects (no planning required)
* Manage behaviour and maintain expectations in line with school policies
* Support students with questions and class tasks
* Work across KS3 & KS4 depending on daily staffing needs
* Provide a calm, structured presence in the classroom
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience with young people (schools, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, etc.)
* Confident managing behaviour and addressing challenges
* Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable covering different subjects
* Graduates or aspiring teachers strongly encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
* Position: Cover Supervisor
* Location: Andover
* Start: ASAP
* Working Pattern: Full-time, part-time, or day-to-day
* Pay: Up to £130 per day
* Age Groups: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
* Experience with children or young people required
* Safeguarding training can be provided
* Behaviour management experience helpful
Eligibility:
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
* Two relevant references
