Construction Delivery Manager
The Construction Delivery Manager will support the delivery of an area within a specific section of the Works. This responsibility extends to all construction and related activities, reporting to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and includes logistics planning and implementation in collaboration with the site-wide logistics team, programming and planning, monitoring and close-out of authorities’ obligations and conditions and client liaison.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the contract partners in delivering the works packages to enable efficient delivery of the sections of works.
* Recommend temporary measures to mitigate safety and/or quality concerns and follow up through appropriate action (e.g., issue communications, call meetings) to avoid cessation of works, including review of documents and assurance audits.
* Monitor works on site and input into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up through the organisation to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and to raise any issues or concerns via detailed reports.
* Proactively communicate and coordinate with other site teams (H&S, contract, project controls, logistics) and Construction Delivery Managers to maintain good communication links and ensure activity is reported timely; attend pre-start briefings and support the delivery of key messages to the contractor’s organization.
* Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor, ensure outputs are recorded and issued to the SCDM.
* Undertake safety and/or assurance inspections that support the project HSPI’s.
* Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager so that all activity and issues are directed appropriately.
Education, Experience and Skills
* Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation.
* Good understanding of the post holder’s obligations under CDM Regulations.
* Working knowledge in the delivery of projects.
* Ability to write informative, concise and meaningful reports.
* Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
* Possess excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
* SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
