A specialist SEN provision in Kingston is looking for a skilled Occupational Therapist to join their dedicated team. This role offers the chance to make a real difference to children and young people with complex needs, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and sensory processing challenges.
Role Overview
As an Occupational Therapist, your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out comprehensive assessments and designing tailored OT programmes
* Supporting learners with sensory processing, motor development, and functional independence
* Creating and implementing sensory diets and practical interventions
* Collaborating closely with teachers, support staff, and other therapy professionals to embed strategies in daily activities
* Contributing to EHCP targets, annual reviews, and progress reports
* Providing training and advice to staff on best practice
* Monitoring and adapting interventions to ensure maximum pupil progress
* Recommending and supporting the use of specialist equipment and classroom adaptations
Requirements
* Qualified Occupational Therapist
* HCPC registration – essential
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, including ASC, SLD, PMLD, or sensory needs
* Knowledge of sensory integration and motor skill development
* Ability to manage your own caseload effectively
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
