Overview
Job Overview: An opportunity has arisen for a permanent member of staff to join a busy children\'s ward, providing comprehensive administrative support to the nursing staff and doctors on the Ward. The role is to work a minimum of 23.8 hours per week. Shift pattern is over 3 weeks, 5 days per week between Monday and Sunday, including 1 weekend in 3. Shifts are typically 08:00–14:00 or 13:30–20:00 (Mon–Fri) and 10:00–18:00 on weekends. The successful candidate should demonstrate flexibility to swap shifts or work additional hours to meet service needs.
Main duties of the job include administrative and clerical tasks, working well within the team, maintaining confidentiality, and providing courteous communication. You will need to be flexible, reliable, adaptable, and have good organisational skills. A pleasant telephone manner and good communication skills are essential for handling patient care inquiries. You should be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office and be a team player. A good standard of education is required. Main duties also include data inputting, admitting and discharging patients, answering the telephone, dealing with families, preparing case notes and filing. You may be required to cover absences within the department, which may include additional evening and weekend shifts. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role.
