Compliance Analyst – Leading Law Firm
A top international law firm is seeking a Compliance Analyst to join its London office and support a busy, collaborative team responsible for legal, risk and regulatory matters. This role sits within a well‑established compliance function and has a strong focus on anti‑money laundering, with exposure to wider compliance activity.
What you’ll be doing
* Developing a strong understanding of the firm’s AML and sanctions policies
* Preparing a clear written analysis for fee earners and senior compliance stakeholders
* Conducting client and matter due diligence, including ownership investigations and risk assessments
* Completing checks on suppliers and third parties, including client account payments
* Supporting monthly reporting processes and maintaining verification databases
* Monitoring the progress of AML checks and coordinating effectively with internal teams
* Managing reverification cycles and contributing to ongoing high‑risk monitoring
* Running sanctions checks and updating internal sanctions records
* Staying current with AML and sanctions regulatory developments and updating procedures
* Assisting with the team inbox, helping colleagues, and providing general day‑to‑day support
* Working alongside IT to maintain systems and assist with compliance projects
* Supporting junior team members and participating in cross‑team initiatives
* Assisting with conflicts checks, lateral hire clearances, external appointment reviews and audit letters
* Liaising with overseas teams on conflict-related requests
What you’ll bring
* Strong IT literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
* Organised, detail‑focused and able to manage deadlines
* Proactive, positive team player with a willingness to learn
* Experience in compliance, risk, conflicts or a legal environment (desirable)
* Knowledge of SRA rules and AML legislation (desirable)
