Role Overview

We’re looking for a Procurement Engineer to act as a critical link between procurement, engineering, and operations. You’ll ensure supplier capabilities, component specifications, and sourcing decisions align with performance, quality, cost, and lifecycle requirements. In this role, you will:
1. Collaborate with Engineering and R&D to translate technical requirements into sourcing criteria
2. Support design-to-cost, component standardisation, and manufacturability reviews
3. Drive cost optimisation through specification reviews, alternative sourcing, and value engineering
4. Engage suppliers early to improve quality, cost competitiveness, and readiness for new product introduction
5. Assist in supplier qualification, audits, and technical capability assessments
6. Integrate with cross-functional teams to ensure sourcing decisions meet programme objectives and compliance standards
About You
You’re technically minded with strong commercial awareness and thrive in a collaborative, global environment.
7. Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
8. Familiarity with cost modelling, design-to-cost principles, and value engineering
9. Understanding of manufacturing and quality processes
10. Ideally, a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
11. Proven experience in engineering, manufacturing, procurement, or supplier development
12. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence technical and commercial stakeholders
