Lecturer in Plumbing
At Clarus Education we are working with a FE College who are seeking a full time Plumbing Lecturer to join their team, to teach on a range of programmes, including NVQ Level 2, Diploma in Plumbing Levels 2 and 3 (City and Guilds/ EAL Technical Certificate) and Level 1 units in Plumbing and Building Services Engineering.
As a Lecturer in Plumbing, you will need to be qualified to Level 3 in Plumbing with and have experience of working in the Plumbing industry. You will need to have teaching or training experience within the subject area, with good communication skills, and the ability to motivate and engage 16–18-year-old learners.
We will support you to develop your career in teaching, including fully funding Level 5 teacher training qualification if you do not already possess this.
Lecturer in Plumbing - Qualifications
1. Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Heating (NVQ or C&G Advanced Craft)
2. ACS qualifications: CCN1, WAT1, CEN1, CKR, MET1, DAH1, CPA1 and HTR1
3. Unvented Hot Water current Certificate
4. Water Regulations Qualification
5. Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g DET) or willingness and ability to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the College
6. A1 assessor award or willingness to undertake one
Lecturer in Plumbing - Knowledge and Experience
7. Plumbing industry experience
8. Experience of teaching / training in the subject area
9. Up-to-date knowledge of the relevant subject area
Lecturer in Plumbing - Other Skills
10. Ability to enthuse and inspire vocational learners aged 16-19
11. Good written communication skills
12. Good interpersonal skills
13. Good classroom practice
14. IT skills and experience of using IT within the curriculum
15. Tutoring experience
16. Ability to apply different methods of curriculum delivery
