Patient Services Assistant
We are looking for a Patient Services Assistant in the Patient Services Department within the facilities division. The role involves delivering high‑standard food and drink services to ward areas at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The assistant will also ensure kitchen and office areas are cleaned efficiently and to required standards in line with Trust policy, and that patients’ meals are served on time and to quality specifications.
The hours of work are 15:00 to 19:00, five days per week (20 hours per week). The contract is a 20‑hour week on a 10‑week rota which may include weekends, bank holidays or Monday‑to‑Friday including bank holidays.
Job responsibilities
* Provide food and drink service to ward areas.
* Serve patients’ meals efficiently and ensure food quality and specifications.
* Clean and maintain kitchen and office areas to required standards in line with Trust policy.
* Adhere to food safety, hygiene, Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
* Work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
* Reading and understanding to the required standard.
* Basic education including Maths and English.
* Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate.
Experience
* Understanding of confidentiality.
* Experience working in a hospital environment.
* Previous experience in a similar role.
Skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Independent work and teamwork.
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
* Basic IT skills.
Personal attributes
* Flexible and reliable attitude to working arrangements.
* Physical capability to undertake the post’s requirements.
