Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for an Estimator to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8. What will you be doing as our new Estimator? As our Estimator, you’ll be a vital part of the SPA’s success, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality delivery across our project including pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs and both water and water recycling treatment plants. You will ensure that handover of pricing packs meet appropriate quality & standards, to agree service level agreement, and to adhere to delivery on time requirements of the Delivery milestones. We operate under an outperformance contract model, and you will play a key role in challenging all aspects of construction costs including Non-Construction, Risk, Overheads, and record for audit via the delivery milestone process and affordability challenge. Key Responsibilities You will provide CAPEX Estimates appropriate to the stage of the project from high level comparative estimates for optioneering to detailed bottoms-up estimates for development of Target Costs. Work with multi-discipline Teams to understand and quantify scope Liaise with supply chain to develop estimates for specific items of scope (both Vendors and subcontractors) Utilise both Estimating software and MS Excel to prepare the Estimate. Identify best practice and advise where efficiencies can be made Develop cost models for items which are repeated from site to site. Work closely with the Cost Managers to ensure a smooth transition from Estimating into Cost Management. A Little Bit About Your Skills, Experience And Behaviours This job might be for you if you have: An Engineering or Quantity Surveying degree, or relevant estimating experience. Experience of either infrastructure, utilities, or process plant estimating. A knowledge of civil, mechanical, electrical, or process control disciplines. Experience using estimating software. Strong numerate and analytical abilities. Excellent communication and motivational skills. Team player with a proactive approach to deadlines. A proficiency in MS Office and estimating software.
