Digartref Cyf is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Support Worker. If you are passionate about providing a high-quality supported housing services for young people aged 16 to 25, who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness, and you want to support them make lasting positive changes in their lives, then we would like to hear from you.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high-quality supported housing provision in Bangor, Gwynedd, that aims to be an exemplar service, providing temporary stable, safe accommodation, with a strong focus on education, learning and training, one that is enabling, assisting vulnerable young people to develop the skills necessary to move on to their long-term home, independence and fulfilled lives.
Please note this is not a personal care service.
The role of Senior Support Worker requires you to provide support, supervision, and direction to a team of supported housing staff that support up to eighteen young people in a 24-hour staffed project. In addition, you would be required to deliver an effective housing management service, draw up staff rotas to ensure 24-hour staff cover and be available to cover on-call on a rota basis outside of your contracted working week, for which an additional payment is made.
Ideally applicants would be expected to:
§ Have previous experience of staff management, supported housing and delivering services to vulnerable clients
§ Have the passion and desire to deliver a high-quality service to vulnerable and complex young people that have been at risk or experienced homelessness.
§ Have a working knowledge and understanding of relevant health and safety issues including risk assessments.
§ Have excellent IT skills.
§ Have excellent communication and people skills.
§ Have a flexible approach to working .
§ Uphold the values and ethos of the service .
§ Be able to drive and have access to a car.
The successful candidate will be required to work to cover some rota shifts which may include weekends, evenings and waking nights. Some shifts will require you to lone work.
