This post is being advertised as a Band 3, however applicants that do not meet the required care certificate competencies will initially be employed as a Band 2. Applicants who hold a care certificate accreditation will start in post at Band 3.
As part of the interview process you will be asked to complete a numeracy and literacy assessment.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Good standard of numeracy and Literacy
2. Completion of a competency-based workbook (Care Certificate) or equivalent relevant experience to vocational level 3.
Experience
Essential criteria
3. Ability to adapt and learn in healthcare environment
Desirable criteria
4. Previous experience of working within a care environment /NHS
5. Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
6. Experience of working with the public
technical skills / Competencies
Essential criteria
7. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood)
8. Ability to follow clear instruction and feed back to senior staff.
9. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative
10. IT literate
Desirable criteria
11. Understanding of basic physiology e.g. normal vital signs, fluid balance, nutritional requirements etc.
12. Venepuncture
13. Simple wound dressings
14. Performing ECG’s
Knowledge
Essential criteria
15. An understanding around basic patient care
16. Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and well-being
Desirable criteria
17. Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, relevant legislation;
18. Have an understanding of ENT, Oral maxillofacial and ophthalmology clinics
