Join to apply for the 228254 Pharmacy Technician role at NHS DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY. The Pharmacy Team in Community Health and Social Care (CHSC) are looking for a motivated, proactive and enthusiastic registered Pharmacy Technician to work within our Stewartry Pharmacy Hubs and GP practices. The team includes Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Support Workers and focuses on medicines management and medication review as part of the primary care multidisciplinary team. It is a rewarding role helping patients in Dumfries and Galloway to safely manage their medicines.
This is an exciting fixed term post available until 25 June 2026.
Responsibilities
* Provide a clinical pharmacy service directly to patients.
* Day-to-day duties may include medicine reconciliation and medication reviews with patients.
* Address medicines-related queries and assess patients’ ability to manage their medicines (including in the patient’s home).
* Collaborate with GP practice staff and multidisciplinary teams within local hospitals, Community Pharmacies and Home Teams.
About the role and development
The education, training and development of staff is paramount. An in-house education and training team will provide opportunities to develop as a professional, with a comprehensive induction for staff joining the CHSC pharmacy team from another sector.
Qualifications and requirements
* Registered Pharmacy Technician.
* Experience in medicines management and primary care is desirable.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with community and hospital colleagues.
