: Position Description The ideal candidate for SPED Teacher at the CCSA will be joyfully committed to his/her teaching craft and content. For each student on assigned caseload, the SPED Teacher will have primary responsibility for instruction as required by the student's IEP, proper maintenance of special education records, and support for regular education teachers to provide the proper accommodations and/or modifications within the classroom. The Special Education Teacher will work under the direction of the Director of Special Education and the CEO. Responsibilities include: Implementing modified instructional programs that meet the IEP for each child on assigned caseload. Using assessment data to monitor growth and drive instruction. Following all federal and state guidelines concerning the development, management and implementation of IEPs and 504s. Managing all documentation of the IEP and special education processes. Serving as a resource for families regarding additional outside support services. Dedicating time and energy to seeing that each child learns to excel in all subjects. Guiding and inspiring children to be curious, think critically, ask questions, and design and create their own high-quality projects. Collaborating closely with grade level teachers, arts faculty, other members of the school support staff, and administrators. Treating all students and other staff with respect and thoughtfulness along with encouraging other members of the school community to do the same. Other duties as assigned by Director and/or CEO.
