London CIV is building one of the most significant private markets investment teams in the UK, and we are looking for a high-calibre Portfolio Manager to be part of that journey.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad, high-impact role at a pivotal moment, as London CIV scales its private markets capability and delivers a major portfolio transformation programme.
You will work across private equity, private credit, infrastructure and natural capital — helping to oversee, shape and evolve a multi-billion-pound portfolio with real influence over outcomes.
The Opportunity
This is not a narrow, siloed role. You will operate as a true private market’s generalist, working across strategy, portfolio construction, manager oversight and stakeholder engagement.
A key part of the role will be supporting the onboarding and transformation of Partner Fund portfolios — giving you exposure to complex, real-world investment challenges and the opportunity to help shape how these assets are managed going forward.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation and play a visible role in how private markets investing is delivered at London CIV.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Helping design and implement a modern private markets portfolio management framework
* Overseeing and managing complex private markets portfolios across multiple asset classes
* Working directly with leading external investment managers and advisers
* Influencing portfolio construction, risk management and investment decisions
* Embedding ESG and responsible investment into decision-making
* Collaborating across investment, risk, commercial and operational teams
* Supporting the transition of assets into London CIV structures
* Representing London CIV with Partner Funds and the wider market
* Where appropriate be responsible for the oversight and monitoring of third-party service providers, which include and are not limited to delegated investment managers and manager research consultants.

What We’re Looking For
You are likely to be an investor who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants broader exposure and real responsibility.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with:
* Strong private markets experience (infrastructure, private credit, private equity or natural capital)
* A track record in portfolio management, fund selection or manager oversight
* The ability to operate across multiple asset classes and investment strategies
* Strong stakeholder skills and credibility with senior investors and managers
* A proactive, hands-on mindset with the drive to take ownership
* Experience gained at an asset owner, asset manager or investment consultancy
You may come from an asset manager, pension fund, consultant or alternatives platform — but most importantly, you’ll bring curiosity, energy and the ambition to help build something.
