What you’ll do
1. Produce management accounts, forecasts, and analysis that directly influence funding and resource decisions across government programmes.
2. Support budget holders and senior leaders with clear, practical financial guidance, helping you build strong relationships and visibility at senior levels.
3. Lead financial planning projects, including scenario modelling and efficiency reviews, giving you the chance to broaden your strategic and analytical skills.
4. Ensure reporting complies with government frameworks and deadlines, strengthening your technical credibility in a highly regulated environment.
5. Work with auditors and internal teams to improve financial processes, leaving a lasting impact on how finance supports the wider organisation.
What you’ll need
6. Strong experience in management accounting or finance business partnering within government or the wider public sector.
7. Confident Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear insight.
8. A proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting in a structured environment.
9. The ability to communicate financial information clearly and build trust with non-finance stakeholders.
10. An understanding of government financial frameworks, standards, and reporting requirements.
