Fair Ways – Supported Living (Post 16) role based in Bristol. We are a leading children’s services charity delivering fostering, education, residential and family services and care for children, families, young people and vulnerable adults. We are seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our Bristol home and empower young adults to navigate independence.
Responsibilities
* Utilise excellent communication to understand and connect with young individuals; collaborate with the team to address significant issues and provide support to thrive.
* Support growth through social life skills, therapeutic activities, and role modelling to guide and mentor young adults.
* Be part of a dedicated team caring for residents; help create a nurturing environment where young people can flourish.
* Contribute to individualised care plans focusing on personal development and wellbeing; support in nutrition, medical needs, hygiene and exploration of work placements, education and personal interests.
* Foster independence by supporting daily tasks within a home setting and helping residents transition to independent living.
* Act as a key worker, liaising with professionals and external agencies; manage administrative tasks including accurate record-keeping and reporting.
* Deliver trauma-informed responses using RiiSE training, providing appropriate support during times of crisis.
This role is offered on a weekly rota pattern of 37.5 hours, with a shift pattern of 2 on 4 off and an average of 2 sleep-ins per week. This flexible schedule supports work-life balance.
Requirements
* Desirable: Commitment to Level 3 qualification development; support to undertake Level 3 to ensure high-quality support across the service.
* Full driving license and access to a car.
* Enhanced Disclosure (DBS) required; cost met by Fair Ways.
* Eligibility to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
