Five Education are looking to recruit an In-Class Support Assistant in Glastonbury. As a Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with identified children and young people, encouraging them to learn and challenge themselves in their learning in the classroom.
Five Education is working with multiple schools in Glastonbury, this includes mainstream primary and secondary schools, specialist (SEND) schools and alternative provision. In the specialist SEND schools, the children have a diagnosis of Special Education Needs (SEN), predominantly children at the school have been diagnosed with Autism or ADHD and/ or mental health challenges. They will need extra help in the lessons and at break and lunchtimes. In the mainstream schools, you will still be working with children with a SEND diagnosis.
You will need to be an excellent motivator and be willing to persevere to help children raise their self-esteem and learn new skills.
Experience is not necessary, but a can-do attitude, resilience and initiative are essential. You will need to be available during school hours: 8:30-15:30. This work is term-time only, the school prefers people who can offer 5 days a week, but they will consider people who can work a minimum of two days a week.
