We have an exciting new vacancy for a Reception Manager to join our team at The Palace Hotel in Buxton. Reporting to Operations Manager/ General Manager
Main Responsibilities
To ensure that all customer comments and complaints are acted upon with all due diligence.
To ensure all monies, floats and accounts are safeguarded and maintained effectively.
To check in/out guests and groups effectively.
To provide information to guests on all hotel products and services.
To ensure all reception polices are adhered to, to avoid none-payments of guests.
To maximise room sales and to promote food and beverage facilities.
Answering telephones and taking messages
To recruit and train new starters to meet company expectations.
Ensure front desk operations comply with hotel safety standards, oversee emergency procedures, and maintain a secure environment for guests and team members
Liaising with other departments (housekeeping, events, food & beverage, maintenance) to ensure guest needs are met.
Personal specification
Previous experience in hotel management (essential)
Previous computerized guest reservations and billing
Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy
Takes pride in their work and has strong attention to detail
Positive attitude and good work ethic
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee and delegate tasks.
A warm, friendly, and approachable personality when interacting with staff and guests.
Shifts
The hours will be 8-hour shifts starting from 7am - 3pm//2.30pm-11pm, with an occasional shift between these times. (The shifts are a guide and are subject to change in line with business needs)
The successful candidate will be organised, punctual and well-presented, with excellent communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of Opera would be advantageous.
