Vickerstock are working in partnership with a global manufacturing business on the appointment of a Senior Production Planner on a full-time basis. The Role Reporting into the Supply Chain / Operations function, the Production Planner will play a key role in coordinating and optimising production activities within a regulated manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that production schedules are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with customer demand, while maintaining compliance and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage short- and medium-term production schedules to ensure output targets are achieved in a safe, efficient, and cost-conscious manner Coordinate the allocation of work orders across production lines, optimising capacity, labour, and material availability Generate and release work orders and purchase requisitions in line with the agreed production plan Collaborate closely with Operations, Materials, and Procurement teams to ensure continuity of supply and smooth day-to-day execution Support long-term planning (up to 24 months) by aligning material availability with forecasted demand and supply plans Monitor production performance and proactively adjust schedules to account for constraints such as lead times, material shortages, labour availability, or process changes Contribute to capacity planning activities, identifying potential bottlenecks, risks to supply, and opportunities for improved utilisation and cost efficiency Drive a customer-focused approach by supporting the delivery of key production KPIs across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Engagement Apply Lean principles and structured problem-solving methodologies to enhance planning processes and operational performance Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory, quality, and health & safety standards (e.g. GMP, ISO, FDA, EH&S) Support site-level strategic planning by providing insight into capacity, demand, and operational capability Promote a collaborative and high-performing team environment through effective communication and stakeholder engagement Criteria Degree-qualified in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline (ADVANTAGEOUS) Previous experience in a production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing role, ideally within a regulated environment Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP or similar highly desirable) Solid understanding of production planning principles, capacity management, and material flow optimisation Familiarity with Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies (e.g. Kanban, SMED) would be advantageous Good awareness of regulatory and compliance standards within manufacturing (e.g. GMP, ISO, H&S) To be considered for this position, please apply to get in touch with our supply chain specialist Michael Irwin today.
