Job Description:
We’re proud winners of the AA Small Hotel Group of the year 2024-25, rated as a Top 30 Best Place to Work in Hospitality 2024 by The Caterer, and recently crowned Best Employer at the Springboard Awards for Excellence.
Bovey Castle has been awarded LARGE HOTEL OF THE YEAR (2024) by Devon Tourism.
We offer minimum 40-hour per week employment contracts, but we understand that everyone’s needs are different. That’s why we’re happy to discuss part-time contracts to fit around your individual schedule.
What We Offer:
* Full-time (40 hours per week) or Part-time Contracts tailored to your lifestyle.
* Overtime Pay – you’ll be paid for every hour worked beyond your contracted hours.
Whether you're seeking a full-time role or looking for part-time work that fits around other commitments, we have different options available.
As a Sommelier, you will oversee all aspects of the wine service in the restaurant and contribute to the development of the wine list for the resort.
This includes serving wine within the restaurant and bar, managing stock levels, and helping develop our teams to recommend and sell wines to customers, enhancing their dining experience and pairing with menu choices.
What you’ll need?
Previous experience in hospitality or specifically working with wines, ideally as a Sommelier or supplier.
Exceptional customer service skills, with a genuine passion for sharing your knowledge.
A WSET Level 3 or 4 diploma or equivalent Sommelier qualification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided.
What’s in it for you?
We prioritize our teams with a values-led approach based on Heart, Honesty, Spirit, and Team, developed ‘by our people for our people’.
Our Eden Extra’s benefits platform offers:
* Enhanced annual leave – 31 days, rising to 33 days with service.
* Monthly Service Charge/Gratuities.
* Live-in accommodation available.
* Discounts and cashback across various retailers, gyms, restaurants, and utilities.
* Wellbeing centre access, including recipes, fitness videos, and financial tools.
* Cycle to Work and Electric Vehicle schemes.
* Health plans including dental, optical, and 24-hour GP access.
* Discounted stays, spa treatments, golf, and leisure access.
* Support via our Wellbeing Strategy, covering Money, Mind, Body & Heart.
* Employee portal with news and updates.
* Opportunities for growth through apprenticeships and leadership programs.
* Family-friendly policies and return-to-work support.
* Free parking, meals on duty, and uniform.
Our culture emphasizes collaboration, feedback, sustainability, and wellbeing, fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity and talent from all backgrounds.
We are committed to equality and encourage applications from all genders, races, religions, ages, sexual orientations, parents, and people with disabilities, to bring diverse perspectives to our team.
