Responsibilities & Qualifications
Hiring for casual / on call Nurses
Responsibilities
* Identify ongoing needs and services of residents to promote high-quality care.
* Ensure proper follow-up, participate in evaluations, and document changes in residents’ health status.
* Assist Resident Care Director (RCD) in conducting evaluations and data collection at move-in, 30 days post-move, semi-annually, and with any change in status.
* Conduct monthly wellness visits for all residents.
* Monitor and follow up on residents who experience falls, accidents, or incidents; document and report accordingly.
* Document all pertinent information in residents’ wellness files.
* Maintain communication with residents’ families or responsible parties to ensure medical needs are met.
* Contact attending physicians when necessary or upon family request.
* Ensure weights and vital signs are obtained monthly for each resident.
* Assist in maintaining wellness files according to policies and regulations.
* Maintain medical supplies and emergency kits.
* Provide clinical support to team members as needed.
* Follow infection control practices and promote standards including testing, training, and skills checks.
* Handle and dispose of blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and hazardous materials safely.
* Monitor medication and treatment profiles to ensure accurate administration and documentation.
* Participate in quality improvement areas such as Resident-Centered Care, APIE, and Quality Care Indicators.
* Understand and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations and resident rights.
Qualifications
* Graduate of approved nursing program.
* Current state license as an LPN/LVN.
* At least one year of experience in relevant healthcare settings.
* Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and assessment skills.
* Effective communication and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications.
* Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
