Salary: £47,690 - £62,000 per annum + Pension, Life Insurance, 9-Day Fortnight

Location: RG7 4PR, between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Due to the classified nature of the work, limited opportunities for remote work are available. The successful candidate will primarily work onsite at AWE Aldermaston.
Package: £47,690 - £62,000 per annum, depending on suitability, qualifications, and experience. A relocation package may be available (terms apply).
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Flexible working requests are considered.
Role Overview
AWE is recruiting an Engineering Team Leader for the Test and Analysis Group within the Nuclear Threat Reduction (NTR) Engineering Team. The team provides mechanical and electrical engineering support for designing, manufacturing, assembling, and maintaining bespoke hardware for training internal and external customers. The environment is varied and fast-paced due to diverse projects and customer needs.
The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately fifteen engineers, overseeing the development and safe implementation of engineering solutions. Responsibilities include team development, operational excellence, project management, and hardware maintenance.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* A degree or equivalent experience in a scientific or STEM discipline
* Proven leadership experience in an engineering role
* Strong management skills
Desirable:
* Experience in hardware design and maintenance
* Leadership, mentoring, and team development skills
* Support in recruitment and career development
* Experience in project scope, schedule, and budget management
* Ability to work calmly under changing priorities, with initiative and flexibility
