About The Opportunity
We are looking for an Engineering Supervisor (ES) to ensure the safe and effective delivery of railway engineering projects. This role requires strong leadership, attention to safety standards, and the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Workforce & Task Management:
o Ensure staff performance meets project requirements and operational goals.
o Communicate task requirements effectively to all team members.
o Oversee and motivate staff on assigned projects to ensure efficient manpower use.
o Monitor and control working hours to comply with safety and legal requirements.
o Conduct team briefings and debriefings (Safety Conversations).
* Health, Safety & Compliance:
o Ensure all Safe Work Packs (SWP) are available and completed before work begins.
o Implement and enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
o Submit a minimum of one Close Call, Safety Conversation, and Safety Inspection per shift.
o Manage and assess risks to maintain a safe working environment.
* Operational & Reporting Duties:
o Ensure all tools and equipment are collected before work and returned afterward.
o Produce shift reports on task completion and staff performance.
o Support team training, mentoring, and development initiatives.
About You
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of railway infrastructure, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
* Attendance and reliability at work.
* Adherence to Health & Safety standards and incident-free operations.
* Compliance with Close Call submissions, Safety Conversations, and Safety Inspections.
* Accuracy and timeliness of weekly personnel and shift reports.
* Effective management of tools, equipment, and operational resources.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards, track maintenance, and renewals.
* Understanding of rail plant and equipment operations.
* Ability to manage Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) standards.
* Strong numeracy, literacy, and report writing skills.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.

* Required Rail Industry Certifications (or willingness to obtain within six months):
