Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Controls Engineer to join a well-established and expanding engineering business in West Yorkshire. Key aspects of the Controls Engineer role include:
A strong passion for control engineering, with a desire to develop within a business that invests in training and innovative technologies.
Experience in hardware and controls design, including the production of functional specifications, P&ID, electrical, pneumatic schematics and control strategies via PLC systems.
The Controls Engineer will be capable of specifying PLCs, inverters, motors, control valves, and other process instrumentation, as well as developing analytical systems to meet customer requirements.
Experience in advanced process control, including control loop tuning, optimisation, troubleshooting, process simulation, alarm management, and safety instrumented systems.
Strong understanding of electrical engineering design and the ability to produce detailed schematics and control panel layouts.
Knowledge of ATEX standards and hazardous area considerations, as well as an understanding of commercial impacts related to control system decisions.
The Controls Engineer will participate in proposal estimating, project planning, reporting and forecasting and will engage with internal and external customers to provide and negotiate effective technical solutions.
HNC/HND in Electrical or Controls Engineering (or equivalent) required.

The successful controls engineer will be primarily office-based with occasional site visits and will be part of a team delivering high-quality, technically challenging projects. The companys location is commutable from most areas of West Yorkshire, including Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax, Wakefield, Brighouse, Dewsbury, and Oldham/East Manchester.
