PURPOSE OF THE POST:

CVST is leading on a number of community projects across Tendring and this post will be responsible for supporting this work. The projects will initially include:
* A volunteering project – to connect people from a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities to volunteering opportunities.
* Community Asset Mapping – researching, identifying and reporting on local assets (services, local support, activities, people and places)
* Community Engagement – engaging with local residents to gather their views around a range of topics, including but not limited to Clacton Town Centre and the Tendring and Colchester Borders Garden Community
This post will focus on the volunteering project with potential opportunities to expand into other areas/projects. The Community Projects Officer will work with local partners to ensure that they connect to, hear, respond to, and represent the voices of the citizens within their neighbourhood.
Responsibilities:
* Lead on the delivery of project targets and outcomes in line with funding requirements and CVST Vision.
* Assist in the promotion and marketing of project activities through advertising, attendance at events, exhibitions, and meetings, as and when required.
* Using internal monitoring systems, monitor the progress of projects and work closely with the Evaluation and Monitoring Officer to ensure that all data is accurate, up-to-date and available for the on-going evaluation of the project and reporting to Funders and the CVS Board of Trustees.
* Work alongside CVST volunteers to support the effective delivery of delegated projects
* Engage with local groups and residents using an 'asset-based community development' approach, building trust and relationships and strengthening networks.
* Facilitate in the production of community asset maps.
* Establish and manage relationships with community groups, external agencies and partners and, identify and make links with those groups and agencies that are not currently known to CVST.
* Identify training needs and establish accredited and informal training opportunities for beneficiaries and organisations to develop their skills and increase volunteering.
* Assist to identify and secure funding towards the enhancement of the project and the development of activities.
* Undertake any other general duties as may be required from time to time
GENERAL:
To work collaboratively as part of the CVST staff team towards the aims and objectives of the organisation as a whole. Attend training in consultation with your line manager to improve and develop skills in line with the requirements of the job. To take part in the staff performance and development review process.
To be aware of the responsibilities connected to confidentiality, data protection and sensitive information within the organisation. To adhere to all CVST's operational policies and procedures including but not limited to Equal Opportunities, Financial Systems and Health and Safety.

This post is fixed term and is funded for two years. The salary for 15 hours per week is £ per annum. (£12.21 per hour) 5.6 weeks holiday, contributory pension scheme, parking available.
