Location: Killingworth, Newcastle (NE12)
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (Term-Time Only)
Salary: £107.71 minimum per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Killingworth, Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual who is committed to supporting children’s learning and development within a nurturing and engaging classroom environment.
Working closely with class teachers and senior staff, you will play a key role in helping pupils achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality support to the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
2. Work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to support pupils’ learning
3. Adapt resources and activities to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs
4. Promote positive behaviour and support the school’s behaviour policy
5. Support pupils’ social, emotional, and mental wellbeing
6. Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and learning environments
7. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Essential Requirements
8. Previous experience working within a UK primary school setting
9. Strong understanding of the UK primary curriculum
10. Experience supporting children with a range of abilities and needs (including SEND is desirable)
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
12. A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting learning
13. A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed
Desirable (but not essential) Qualifications
14. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
15. Additional training in areas such as phonics, behaviour management, or SEND support
