Accounts Assistant – 6-Month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support a busy finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, excellent accuracy, and experience working within a finance or accounts environment.You will be responsible for a range of transactional finance duties, supporting both the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, as well as assisting with month-end tasks.
Due to occasional travel between sites and banks, a full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
* Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
* Matching, batching, and coding invoices
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Preparing payment runs
* Resolving supplier queries
Accounts Receivable
* Raising customer invoices
* Allocating payments
* Chasing outstanding debt via phone and email where required
* Producing customer statements
General Finance Support
* Assisting with bank reconciliations
* Supporting month-end processes
* Maintaining accurate financial records and filing
* Processing expenses
* Liaising with internal departments to resolve discrepancies
* Providing general administrative support to the finance team
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, or similar role
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
* Confident communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
* Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle
