They are passionate about establishing and maintaining an exceptional children's home where children who have faced difficult beginnings can find a secure and loving environment.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be providing one to one care for children aged 8-17 who are from a background of trauma and neglect in line with their care plans, acting as a role model at all times. You must be driven to ensure the children and young people have an experience of childhood that they deserve, one filled with fun, laughter, friendship and discovery.
You will be participating in the day-to-day operations & duties of the home alongside ensuring all the documentation required is completed accurately. We want you to be able to create a positive environment in the home, so this enables the children to express their character, feel safe and enrich their lives.
You will be supporting the children in social and educational activities that help them in developing their learning and educational aspirations, e.g. family contact, appointments, education, and leisure activities, including holidays abroad, trips in the UK and many more.
To achieve this high level of care, you will be working with a fantastic team and supportive manager to ensure the children in your care have all their needs and requirements met.
The official start date is expected towards the end of the year and will be confirmed in due course.
The requirement is to be over the age of 25, with a license to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications or experience:
* Must hold a Level 3 Diploma/NVQ relating to Young People in Residential Care or willingness to work towards it
* Driver preferred
* Experience within Children's Residential Care
* Experience working as part of a team
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to communicate with children & establish supportive relationships
* Knowledge of the Children's Home Standards and Children's Home Regulations
* Awareness of issues affecting young people in Residential care.
* Ability to work on a Rota basis please note this may include sleepovers, weekends and bank holidays.
* Clearcare experience is desirable.
The initial hourly rate is £12.21 with potential for negotiation based on the applicant's experience.
